Collection IV: Fierce

In 1633, Galileo was sentenced to formal imprisonment by being "vehemently suspect of heresy", namely of having held the opinions that the Earth moves around the Sun. Despite in prison, Galileo muttered the rebellious phrase “E pur si muove" (“And yet it moves”), insisting fiercely the earth is not motionless as was commonly believed in his time.
